Solutions : Water
Regions : Metro Colorado

Colorado Rockies’ West Lot, now officially known as McGregor’s Square, will feature a plaza, residential space, hotel, retail, restaurants and more, which is scheduled to open in 2021.

RK Water began temporary construction dewatering in December 2018, and continued for six months through May 2019. The pumping of groundwater was managed by a series of interconnected sumps inside the excavation. RK Water’s expertise in groundwater management and mitigation permitted Hensel Phelps, and its subcontractors, to excavate down to bottom-of-grade, and to pour the foundations of McGregor’s Square ahead of schedule. Over the period of six months, over 30,000,000 gallons of groundwater was pumped out of the excavation and treated. In addition to pumping the groundwater out of the excavation, RK Water treated the groundwater for contaminants including Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead, Selenium and Tetrachloroethylene.

RK Water was proud to work with Hensel Phelps on the McGregor’s Square project. Over the course of six months, RK Water watched as the foundations of the project were set in concrete, allowing the future Denver landmark to reach towards the sky. RK Water is honored to be part of the project and its integral part in securing a part of history with the Colorado Rockies.
