THE IMPORTANT WORK YOU WILL DO

The Sales Manager for Mechanical is responsible for developing all key sales growth strategies, tactics and action plans required to achieve financial targets. As a member of the management team, this position will have strategic and tactical responsibility for delivering key account results, growing our long-term relationships, and building a world-class team. This role will work closely with the corporate marketing team to create highly effective brand and marketing programs in support of the achievement of sales objectives. This position reports directly to the VP of Corporate Business Development.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for developing and executing a sales plan to meet or exceed the sales goals laid out in our strategic plan and to expand the company’s customer base
  • Analyze business trends, capture opportunities for growth and development of actions plans to maximize sales
  • Produce annual forecasts and rolling projections
  • Manage the Sales organization to achieve goals, objectives and monthly/annual quota achievement
  • In partnership with the HR team, this role is responsible for hiring, training, coaching, incentivizing, tracking and maintaining a World Class sales team.
  • Capture and monitor team metrics – create best practices which can be leveraged enterprise wide. Compile weekly/monthly team metric reports
  • Proactively work to improve the Sales Development process and  fully leverage the company’s CRM tool (Saleslogix)
  • Ensure efficient prospect/customer information exchange, nurturing of relationships and partnering with business counterparts
  • Supporting the team to look for creative and innovative opportunities to grow or win business
  • Develop team culture and create new ways to drive a team’s success. Ensure a positive working environment and continually maximize the effectiveness of the Sales team
  • Running side by side coaching sessions with all team members to increase productivity and improve performance
  • Providing all team members with continuous accurate and up-to-date information regarding their performance and coaching any improvements required
  • Managing internal relationships to encourage synergy with other departments (Preconstruction, Estimating, Contracting, Marketing, Finance)

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • 15 years successful sales management experience – required; experience in the mechanical contracting or commercial construction arenas – strongly preferred
  • Masters or college/university graduate or equivalent combination of skills and
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and managing a high performing sales team with varying skills/ experience
  • Proven track record of driving a growing team to deliver challenging sales targets
  • Demonstrated success in creating a scalable sales programs to meet and exceed targets
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services and position them against competitors
  • Experience with a CRM tool – required; Saleslogix – preferred
  • High-energy and a desire to succeed
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, result-focused environment
  • Strong business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of an organization
  • Highly motivated, passionate self-starter, organized, analytical and detailed oriented
  • Strong process and people management skills
