January 3, 2019 – RK is proud to announce that both of the projects entered in the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Rocky Mountain Chapter’s 2018 Excellence in Construction Awards won first place. The awards recognize outstanding merit shop projects in the Rocky Mountain region.

RK Steel won the Excellence in Construction award in the Exteriors category for the Mile High Harley-Davidson of Parker Canopy project.

RK Mechanical also took home the 1st place Excellence in Construction award in the Mechanical category: All Projects More than $10 Million for their work on the C. Wayne McIlwraith Translational Medicine Institute at Colorado State University project. In addition, RK Mechanical also won the Specialty Contractor Project of the Year award for this project. This award category is new this year, so RK was the inaugural winner for Specialty Contractor Project of the Year.

Some of the team members who worked on these projects attended the awards gala on October 19 at Wings Over the Rockies to accept the awards. Read ENR’s coverage to learn more about the award ceremony here.
