January 28, 2013 – Building upon a long standing commitment to community giving, Colorado-based RK established the RK Foundation to manage and oversee the company’s philanthropic activities. The mission of the RK Foundation is “to build better lives by strengthening communities and providing opportunities for those most in need.” As one of the Rocky Mountain region’s leading mechanical contractors, RK embraces the opportunity to give back and positively impact lives. According to Jon Kinning, EVP/COO, “The RK Foundation allows us to affect real change for individuals by supporting organizations that provide services vital to the health and viability of our community.”

In 2012, the RK Foundation had the honor of supporting ACE Scholarships, an organization dedicated to providing equal access to quality schools for low-income children. Founded in 2000, ACE provides recipients partial scholarships to the private school of their choice. Through the RK Foundation’s support of the program, four Colorado families were able to select a school best suited to their child’s needs, enabling future success.

An ACE student said, “Before when I was in public school I never wanted to be there and now, I wake up every day excited of what might happen in my life. I honestly can’t tell you how thankful I am.”

ACE Executive Director, Norton Rainey added, “By investing in a quality education for children today, we are laying the ground work in our communities, our state and our country for a brighter tomorrow. We are deeply grateful to have the RK Foundation stand with us to provide every child in Colorado with a world-class education.”
