RK Earns OSHA VPP Star Mobile Workforce Accreditation

May 30, 2013 – After more than a year in preparation and pursuit, RK has become the 53rd U.S. company to achieve the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Voluntary Protective Program (VPP) Star Mobile Workforce, the highest level of accreditation attainable through OSHA.

Earned as a result of a comprehensive, company-wide effort, this achievement introduces RK to the distinguished group of 0.03% of American companies with VPP accreditation at any level. Furthermore, based on the contractor’s research, RK is the only domestic mechanical contractor with both OSHA VPP Star Mobile Workforce accreditation and current ISO 9001:2008 registration; a testament to the organization’s ongoing commitment to safety and quality. RK’s commitment to safety is ingrained into the foundation of the corporate culture.

RK emphasizes the importance of each employee’s personal commitment to working safely. Preemptive planning and continuing education play a critical role in the contractor’s pledge to setting the industry safety and quality standards.

Ian Welsh, Vice President of Corporate Development who leads the company’s certification initiative, said, “Ensuring that each employee makes it home safely every night to his or her family is our top priority. That’s really what it’s all about.”
